Concerning Cris I... yes he could have hit for average better last year but he
had many big hits and is a HR hitter and a very good catcher... but... his arm
and release... was only average and he almost never tried to throw behind the
runner... because he could rarely get close on an average play. THAT ability
this year will be a first for the Rocks.
This staff needed Hernandez's personality. And with our infield this year...
picking off guys is indeed going to be a "beautiful thing."
Catching has Always been a semi weak position for the Rocks although I agree
Yorvit T. was the best that we have had.
I like our infield... Scoot will come along with hitting... we still have a
lot of spring training to go... 3rd is still a bit of a question but we have
multiple pieces to go there... .
SO we are still looking at pitching...
It looks like the young guys are showing good stuff... top 3 anyway. BP looks
to be OK. So really we are looking at who steps up to start... 4 and 5... with
DLR on the horizon at ...
