Review: Lytro Light Field Camera (crunchgear?)
To publish a "review" of the Lytro as it is today is, in a way, very
premature. But it's also only fair. The product is shipping and, to an extent,
complete. But given the number of features and planned improvements in the
pipes, a review today will be obsolete in a few months. Nevertheless, an
initial judgment on the device must be made. So here is what can be said of
the Lytro in a form that can only really be called a public beta. We also
recently got to talk with Lytro founder Ren Ng and their director of

What dog matches this description?
I've looked at a bunch of different websites, and none of them say what I want them to. I need a dog that:
will be at least 100lbs when grown.
at least a little attractive.
natural guard dog tendencies.
sheds very little or none at all.
I want the dog for a pet/companion. I do gateway homeschool so I'm here with my little ten pound poodle all day. I'd have plenty of time each day for training, exercising, and bonding.
I wouldn't mind a crossbred. I'm a HUGE fan of rescuing from either breed specific rescues or humane societies/pounds.

Bouviers are on both and the males can get to 90 lbs-my uncle has one and it looks like a black bear- a scary looking dog but can be a great companion. They're floppy, cuddly, funny dogs, but good gaurd dogs (plus just the site andd sound of them can easily scare anyone). When groomed well, they barely shed (got that off the website-just click on the individual dogs and their descriptiions pop up).
Just compare the 2 lists and pick the big breeds-then compare them to see which fits you best. I said bouviers specifically cause I think they're great dogs:) Good luck and if this is still open tomorrow, I'll do a little more work for you!

Giant Shnauzers-the males can get to 80 lbs and they shed very little if any when groomed properly. They look a lot like small black bears as well as the Bouviers:)
Those are the 2 dogs that I found on both lists that are at least close to 100 lbs, but sorry they don't hit it:( Poodle mixes are usually, if not always minimal shedders. Poodles I would even consider if I were you-they're very smart dogs that I'm sure can be 'guard doggish' with the right training. Just make sure any animal you choose, you take it to classes to become a guard dog or its training may back fire and the wrong person (or people) could get hurt, also putting the dog at risk.
I really love Bouviers-my daughter was afraid of my uncle's, though because it looked so much like a bear. Plus the female isn't as friendly as the male was-she's whimpy with new people and gets a little nippy, but she was NOT trained as a guard dog (sorry, forgot the not before). The male was very friendly but much more guard doggish. His bark was scary-he died over 10 years ago but I can still remember his bark scaring a few people away from him, lol. He was NOT (did it again) trained as a guard dog either, though.
Many dogs, if groomed properly, will not shed as much. I actually saw aa commercial for this thing that sucks up their loose fur right off them, making them shed a lot less. (Check out the "As seen on TV" stuff in Rite Aid or in the mall and you may find it there.)
